Distribution outside the UK: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, northern Africa
Fleurs : 2-3, bleue-livide ou blanchâtre, à pédoncules 4-5 fois plus longs que l'ovaire ; spathe à valves lancéolées, scarieuses aux bords ; périanthe à tube court, à divisions extérieures non barbues et à onglet court, les intérieures un peu plus courtes, égalant ou dépassant les stigmates jaunes à 2 lobes courts aigus courbés en dehors ;
Floraison France : mai - juillet
Flowers: 5-7 cm across, dull purplish, rarely pale yellow, stalks 4-5 times longer than the ovary; spathe with lanceolate valves, roughened at the edges; perianth with a short tube, external division not bearded, with a short claw; the interiors a little shorter, equalling or surpassing the yellow stigmas, which have 2 lobes, short, pointed and curved outwards.
